Moving from routine disinformation campaigns, the Kremlin is shifting toward orchestrating actual terrorist attacks with mass casualties. Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has disclosed details of a cynical Moscow special operation aimed at scuttling U.S.-brokered peace talks at any cost.
Intelligence officials warn that after priming the public with fakes about an "attack on Putin," Russian security services are preparing a bloody climax. The plot involves an armed provocation planned for the eve of, or during, the Julian calendar Christmas celebrations.
Targets may include iconic religious sites—such as cathedrals or churches—or other landmarks of high symbolic value. The threat spans both Russian territory and temporarily occupied Ukrainian cities.
The plan’s particular cynicism lies in its "props." To create the necessary visuals, Russian security services intend to use actual debris from Western-made strike drones. These fragments are reportedly being transported from the front lines to the planned attack sites to fabricate "ironclad evidence" of Ukrainian and Western culpability.
The SVR concludes that Moscow is returning to its long-standing, proven tactic of "false flag" terror against its own population—a method the Putin regime has repeatedly employed for domestic mobilization and intimidation.
