Russian forces have begun using Shahed attack drones equipped with Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems (MANPADS) to hunt Ukrainian aircraft.

Radio technology specialist Serhiy Beskrestnov (known as "Flash") reported the development.

According to Beskrestnov, the enemy continues to seek new ways to destroy Ukrainian planes and helicopters. Today, Ukrainian defenders spotted a Shahed drone equipped with a MANPADS for the first time.

The expert explained the technical details of the modification: the drone is equipped with a camera and a radio modem. This enables a pilot to control the Shahed directly from Russian territory and manually launch the missile.

In light of this, Flash urged army aviation pilots to heed the new threat. He advises against approaching enemy drones head-on and recommends exercising extreme caution with UAVs that appear to be loitering or "circling."

It is also worth recalling how Belarus helps guide Shaheds into Ukraine.
