U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker has stated that a settlement to the war in Ukraine could be reached within the next three months.
He made the remarks during an appearance on Fox News.
According to the diplomat, the process of ending hostilities could be swift. "You know, if it’s gonna get done, it’s gonna get done in the next 90 days," Whitaker emphasized.
The ambassador also highlighted the difficult conditions Ukraine faces this winter, noting that Russian attacks on energy infrastructure pose serious challenges for the population. At the same time, Whitaker stressed that Ukrainians are not taking it lying down and are actively retaliating.

"The Ukrainians are not sitting on their hands. I mean, they are launching their own attacks against the Russians that are damaging their infrastructure and the oil and gas industry," he noted.
Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump’s position, Whitaker described his approach as the right one, pointing to the need to stop the violence, which has persisted for four years without yielding a strategic advantage to anyone.
