As a result of a massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of November 14, 2025, five people were killed, and another 34 were injured. The strike targeted the capital's residential sector, with damage recorded at more than 20 locations in nine city districts.
The increase in the number of victims was reported by Timur Tkachenko, head of the KCMA (Kyiv City Military Administration). According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, medics are providing assistance to the injured both on-site and in medical facilities.
Ukraine's air defense systems detected and tracked 449 aerial attack assets. "A lot of ballistics were fired at Kyiv — 9 Iskander missiles, 6 of which were successfully intercepted," reported Yuriy Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command. He added that our Patriots worked very effectively, also shooting down two Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.
In total, 419 aerial targets were shot down or suppressed overnight: 405 Shahed-type and other types of UAVs, two Kinzhal missiles, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and six Iskander-K/Kalibr cruise missiles. The enemy used a combined strike involving attack drones, as well as air-, ground-, and sea-launched missiles.
Yuriy Ihnat also reported 44 locations with damage across Ukraine, 28 of which — in the Kyiv region. The damage occurred both from the debris of intercepted enemy targets and from direct hits.
The Desnyanskyi district was affected the most, where destruction from the fifth to the ninth floors of a residential building was recorded. Specialists from the SES (State Emergency Service) rescued 16 people, and two others — were unblocked from the rubble. More than 100 rescuers and 33 units of equipment are working at the site of the fire, which covers 400 square meters. The process of clearing the debris and searching for people underneath continues.
In the Dniprovskyi district, rescuers saved 17 people and extinguished several fires, including one on the 20th floor of a residential building and another on the territory of a sports complex.
The Podilskyi district sustained damage at six locations, including an unoccupied multi-story building, an embassy building of one of the countries, and a polyclinic. A fire on the 20th floor of a 23-story residential building was extinguished.
In the Obolonskyi district, two apartments in a residential building caught fire, and in the Darnytskyi district — a fire broke out on school grounds. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a five-story administrative building was damaged, with its roof destroyed and windows blown out.
In the Solomianskyi district, SES specialists rescued 20 people after a five-story residential building was damaged. In the Sviatoshynskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, falling UAV debris and localized fires were also recorded.
SES employees, police, municipal services, and volunteers are working at the scenes. SES psychologists provided assistance to 38 people, and K-9 units with two dogs were involved. Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, World Central Kitchen, and the "People United by Ukraine" organization have organized food for the victims and rescuers.
