I watched the court hearing on selecting a preventive measure for the grandmother of Ukrainian corruption. Well, what can I tell you. I didn't expect such disgrace even from NABU and SAP.
The question is not about the guilt or innocence of Yulia Volodymyrivna. We all know that this striking woman is capable of anything. This is about professional incompetence, if not to say outright idiocy, of NABU Director Kryvonos, SAP Head Klymenko, and their entire anti-corruption brotherhood.
Judge for yourselves. The criminal proceedings in which Ms. Tymoshenko was notified of suspicion were registered on November 27, 2025. On what grounds? – There are no grounds. Information was entered into the URDR that NABU allegedly received data about the formation of some criminal group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – that's the entire basis. We weren't born yesterday and understand the purpose of registering such criminal proceedings – to obtain rulings for conducting covert investigative actions against all people's deputies who do not show proper respect to Kryvonos and Klymenko. But no overt investigative actions were conducted in these proceedings until January 9, 2026.
On January 9, 2026, People's Deputy Ihor Kopytin "voluntarily comes" to NABU – he himself being a subject of criminal proceedings investigated by NABU – tears his shirt on his chest and, according to the SAP prosecutor's version, says that since childhood he dreamed of fighting corruption. He also asks to be given a recording device to record a conversation with Yulia Volodymyrivna, who allegedly three weeks ago made him an indecent proposal – offered to vote in unison with the Batkivshchyna faction in exchange for monetary compensation.
The detectives rejoiced because, as it turns out, they not only knew a week earlier that Kopytin's legal consciousness would awaken, but had already obtained an investigative judge's ruling on January 7, 2026, authorizing covert investigative actions against Tymoshenko using Kopytin. In other words, Kopytin didn't yet know that he would go confess to NABU, but Kryvonos and Klymenko knew.
But the most interesting thing is that the detectives received the ruling for conducting covert investigative actions involving Kopytin in the criminal proceedings dated 27.11.2025 – because they couldn't have entered the information reported by Kopytin into the URDR two days before his interrogation. But even after interrogating Kopytin, NABU also did not register criminal proceedings.
In case anyone didn't understand: as it turned out, criminal proceedings regarding the episode of Yulia Tymoshenko bribing People's Deputy Kopytin do not exist. And the covert investigative actions and search at the Batkivshchyna office were conducted in a completely different criminal proceeding – the very one registered on 27.11.2025, which has no relation to the episode incriminated against Tymoshenko. This means that all evidence obtained against Tymoshenko is null and void.
Moreover, Tymoshenko is only incriminated for the conversation with Kopytin on January 12, 2026 – nothing more. Allegedly, during this conversation, Tymoshenko indicated she was ready to pay Kopytin and two other people's deputies $10,000 per month each. According to the SAP prosecutor, Tymoshenko allegedly wrote precisely this amount on paper during the conversation. But there was no transfer of money – most likely, Kopytin simply refused further cooperation with NABU. And then NABU agents came on the evening of January 13 to the Batkivshchyna office when Tymoshenko was there alone, conducted a search in her office and Deputy Vlasenko's office, where they found nothing interesting, and shook out $40,000 from Tymoshenko's purse.
But the farce didn't end there. The NABU detective appealed to the High Anti-Corruption Court with a motion to select a preventive measure for suspect Tymoshenko, without submitting any evidence of her committing even any offense. More precisely, the only "evidence" is an excerpt from Tymoshenko's conversation with Kopytin about who knows what. Moreover, the prosecution not only did not summon People's Deputy Kopytin himself to court to testify about the subject of the conversation with Tymoshenko but generally encrypted him in the conversation transcript under the pseudonym "Mazur."
But that's not all: for lack of evidence, the NABU detective attached to the motion for selecting a preventive measure for Tymoshenko the verdict of Judge Kireev dated October 11, 2011, by which Tymoshenko was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. In this way, the NABU detective decided to prove that the suspect is an inveterate recidivist and may hide from the investigation.
I won't even comment on the ruling of Judge Dubas, who partially granted the motion to select a preventive measure for Tymoshenko – Vitaliy Mykhailovych was a tax inspector and remains one.
And finally. NABU and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are different branches of government. Whatever the people's deputies may be, persecution of a representative of the legislative branch by representatives of the executive branch solely for their political activity (and attracting votes from another faction, actions aimed at destroying the mono-majority, etc. – this is undoubtedly Tymoshenko's political activity) is considered unacceptable in civilized countries.
Moreover, recruiting members of parliament as agents of law enforcement agencies is directly prohibited in most countries. And in no civilized country would any law enforcement agency disgrace itself by criminally persecuting a politician solely on the basis of a recorded conversation (and in this case – also recorded illegally) without actual transfer of money.
The only thing that pleases me is that senior NABU detective Rodion Hennadiyovych Biryukov is not participating in this shameful farce. Because I wouldn't survive that.
