Operatives from the SBU's Special Operations Center "A" have carried out a series of successful attacks on five Russian military airfields over the past year. Long-range drone strikes resulted in the loss of 15 enemy aircraft, with total damages exceeding $1 billion.
As "Hvylya" reports, citing information released by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) regarding the operations of the "Alpha" special unit.
Ukrainian forces have demonstrated that rear bases are no longer safe havens for Russian hardware.
"The enemy is accustomed to feeling safe deep in the rear. However, distance is no longer an obstacle for the SBU's 'Alpha' special forces," the agency emphasized.
According to confirmed data, "Alpha" destroyed or disabled 11 combat aircraft, including Su-30SM, Su-34, Su-27, Su-24, and MiG-31 fighters and bombers. The strikes also hit three helicopters (Mi-28, Mi-8, and the heavy transport Mi-26), as well as an An-26 transport plane.
In addition to the aircraft, the drones destroyed ammunition depots and fuel storage facilities at the airfields.
"The result is that 15 enemy aircraft will never take to the skies again," the SBU concluded.
We previously reported that Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and ports.
