Ukrzaliznytsia is implementing additional security measures following an intensification of enemy strikes on railway infrastructure and rolling stock.
The company's press service announced the changes, as reported by "Hvylya".
Railway officials highlight that continued attacks on the transport network have necessitated operational decisions to minimize risks for passengers and staff. Specifically, movement on certain routes—primarily in the Kharkiv region—is being temporarily restricted. Passengers on these lines will be offered connecting bus services to reach their destinations.
Additionally, some direct long-distance services will be replaced by connecting routes utilizing suburban trains. The company has promised to notify affected passengers individually regarding these changes.
Ukrzaliznytsia also warned of a special operating regime on sections in frontline regions and areas of heightened enemy activity. This applies to the Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as associated connecting routes.
"Unplanned stops are possible, which may impact train schedules," the company noted.
The carrier urges passengers to consider these circumstances when planning their trips and to allow ample time for transfers rather than cutting it close.
"Punctuality and speed are important to us, but nothing is more important than safety," Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized.
