EU defense ministers are set to gather in Brussels on Wednesday, February 11, for a high-stakes meeting. The agenda features a single, critical item: military support for Ukraine.

Hvylya reports, citing Politico.

Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov will represent Kyiv at the summit. This marks one of his first key visits since his appointment last month. The minister is expected to outline the army's "pressing" needs ahead of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion.

"Fedorov is likely to ask for additional surface-to-air missile systems, including Patriots and NASAMS, which have long been on Kyiv’s priority list," the publication notes.

Beyond bolstering air defenses, the meeting will cover cooperation on defense innovation. Given Fedorov’s background in the digital sector, specific attention will be paid to drones and emerging military technologies.

The urgency of the air defense request is underscored by daily attacks. Russia has targeted energy hubs throughout the winter in an attempt to leave cities without light and heat. Moreover, debris analysis has revealed missiles manufactured as recently as early 2026, indicating the enemy's continued weapons production capabilities.

Earlier, Zelensky announced the launch of Ukrainian drone production in Germany.
