Poland Probes Epstein's Alleged Ties to Russian Intelligence

Poland has launched an investigation into potential links between billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Russian intelligence services, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The NY Post reported the development.

The decision to form an investigative team followed the US Department of Justice's release of a new tranche of Epstein documents, in which Vladimir Putin's name appears nearly 1,000 times and references to Moscow occur some 10,000 times.

"More traces, more information, and increasing commentary in the global press point to the suspicion that this unprecedented pedophilia scandal was co-organized by Russian intelligence services," Tusk said.

"I do not need to explain the severity of the threat to Polish national security posed by the increasingly likely possibility that Russian intelligence co-organized this operation," he added. "This could only mean that they also possess compromising material on many leaders who are still active today."

The released documents include a September 11, 2011, email mentioning a "meeting with Putin" scheduled for September 16 during Epstein's upcoming trip to Russia. In May 2013, Epstein wrote to Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland expressing a desire to help Putin and Russia "rethink the financial system." Another 2014 letter suggests a potential meeting between Putin and Epstein.

Neither the Russian Embassy in Warsaw nor the Russian Foreign Ministry have commented on the Polish investigation.
