US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has not familiarized himself with the American peace proposals.

As reported by Hvylya, Trump made the remarks during a conversation with journalists in Washington on December 8, in response to a question about the next steps in ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Trump emphasized that he was "a little disappointed" by this.

"We talked to President Putin and the Ukrainian leadership, including President Zelensky. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that Zelensky hasn't read the proposal yet. As of a couple of hours ago," he said.

According to Trump, Zelensky's people are "thrilled" with the proposal. However, he did not clarify whether he was referring to the president's team or the general population of Ukraine. He also stressed that Russia is allegedly satisfied with the plan.

"I think Russia would like to have the whole country, if you think about it. But I think Russia is fine with the plan. I'm not sure Zelensky is fine with it. His people are thrilled, but he hasn't read it," the head of the White House added.

It was previously reported that the EU is preparing a replacement for the Trump initiative.
