Ukraine has initiated a week-long halt on strikes against energy facilities in response to a United States initiative. While the energy grid remained relatively quiet in most regions, the enemy shifted tactics to focus on targeting logistics.

Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his evening address wrapping up the 1,437th day of the war.

According to the President, Friday night passed without massive attacks on the energy sector, with the sole exception of the Donetsk region. However, Russian forces struck a railway hub in the Dnipropetrovsk region, destroying a specialized power-generation railcar. Ballistic missiles also hit Philip Morris warehouses in the Kharkiv region.

The President emphasized that Kyiv agreed to Washington's proposal regarding a temporary moratorium.

"The American side spoke of refraining from energy strikes for a week, and the countdown began last night. It depends on the partners, of course – on the United States – how this all plays out. Ukraine is ready to mirror this restraint, and today we did not launch strikes on Russian energy facilities," Zelensky noted.

Particular attention at the Staff meeting was paid to a report by intelligence chief Oleg Ivashchenko. Data indicates that Moscow is not considering ending hostilities and plans to maintain the current tempo of assaults. Economic pressure remains the only lever of influence, as "money in Russia must run out for the war to begin running out."

The President also issued a direct order to the government to resolve the issue of heating bills for services that were effectively not provided.

"People should not be charged for services that did not exist. If there was no heating, there should be no bills. It is not up to the people, but the companies to ensure the appropriate recalculation. This needs to work without bureaucracy," the Head of State emphasized.
