US President Donald Trump has made a pointed statement regarding the prospects for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, Moscow is determined to reach an agreement, and Kyiv must not squander this moment.

As reported by "Hvylya", the American leader made the remarks in comments to the press.

Trump underscored the need for decisive action from Ukraine's leadership.

"Russia wants to conclude a deal, and Zelensky must start acting. Otherwise, he will miss a great opportunity – he needs to move forward," the US President stressed.

Concurrently, intensive diplomatic efforts are underway. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha noted that Trump's personal engagement provides a chance to accelerate the peace process. However, Kyiv expects a constructive approach rather than "historical lectures".

Sybiha assured that Ukraine is prepared to present concrete proposals, but emphasized that no agreements would come at the expense of territorial integrity or sovereignty. Regarding the 20-point plan, three key issues remain to be resolved at the leadership level.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The sides discussed joint defense projects, particularly drone production, as well as energy support and diplomatic steps toward peace.

It was also reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived at the Munich Security Conference, having previously signaled a potential meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky.
