Hourly rolling blackouts and power capacity restrictions for industrial consumers will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine tomorrow, January 15.
Ukrenergo made the announcement.
The restrictions stem from the aftermath of Russian missile and drone strikes on energy facilities. The grid operator warned that the situation remains fluid and urged the public to consume electricity sparingly.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the situation in the capital as extreme. He noted that approximately 400 buildings are still without heat.
"The capital is operating under extreme conditions. And this is happening under the constant threat of new enemy attacks. The situation is very difficult. This is the first time we have seen a scale like this in four years of full-scale war," he stated.
DTEK provided an update on the Kyiv region. Stability has been restored in the Bucha district, where emergency shutdowns have been lifted in favor of scheduled outages. However, emergency cuts remain in place for the Boryspil and Brovary districts. The region is also experiencing localized outages due to adverse weather conditions.
