Five missiles have struck Kyiv's Combined Heat and Power Plant No. 5 (CHPP-5).
MP Oleksiy Kucherenko reported the details during a live broadcast.
According to Kucherenko, it was a targeted attack — the enemy knew exactly where to strike. The scale of the destruction makes it extremely difficult to restart the heat supply across the network.
"The damage resulted specifically from missile strikes... five missiles hit the facility, let me explain... Five missiles hit specific targets; they understood where to aim. The damage is so severe that restarting the heat supply through the network is very difficult," Kucherenko stated.
The main heating pipeline from CHPP-5 runs under the Paton Bridge and branches out to residential areas on the Right Bank. One section serves Pechersk, while the other extends to Holosiivska Square, Lybidska, and continues towards Teremky.
Energy expert Oleh Popenko added that the 500 houses mentioned by the Kyiv City State Administration will take a very long time to reconnect. The timeline for restoring the equipment at the CHPP remains unknown.
