Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Moscow has not received the so-called 20-point peace plan for Ukraine through either official or unofficial channels. At the same time, the diplomat of the aggressor state claims that Russia is allegedly ready for compromises.
According to "Hvylya" he said this in a comment to Russian propaganda media.
According to Lavrov, the key condition for the Kremlin remains consideration of Russia's "legitimate interests." He complained that the document's content partially reached the media, but it was not transmitted directly to Moscow.
"Now they are demonstrating some 20-point document that no one transmitted to us," the minister noted.
Lavrov also mentioned the Alaska summit between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. According to his version, based on those agreements, it would have been possible to quickly coordinate a final treaty on settlement. However, as the Russian Foreign Minister claims, the document was subsequently "reworked several times."
Lavrov, in his characteristic manner, called further versions of the agreement "attempts to rape the American initiative," blaming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team for this. Despite the rhetoric, he assured that Moscow is ready to seek a balance of interests, but not at the expense of its own security.
"Compromises are always possible when several states, even two, negotiate with each other. We are always ready for compromises, that is, to seek a balance of interests. The main thing is that the legitimate interests of each country are taken into account," Lavrov stated.
It should be noted that the Financial Times reported that presidential elections in Ukraine could take place as early as May. The publication claims that at polling stations, Ukrainians will allegedly be asked to express their views on the terms of a future peace agreement with Russia in a referendum.
Earlier, it was reported that Putin has encountered problems with a front breakthrough.
