Oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky stated at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Kyiv that an alleged assassination attempt was made on businessman Timur Mindich in Israel on November 28.
According to Kolomoisky, the perpetrators targeted the wrong house, causing the attempt to fail. A housekeeper was wounded in the incident, and the attackers have been detained.
"It was an attempted assassination; the criminals have been arrested. A housekeeper was wounded," Kolomoisky said.
The oligarch indicated that further details would emerge in the coming days and invited journalists to attend future court hearings.
Timur Mindich—a co-owner of the Kvartal-95 Studio and a former business partner of Volodymyr Zelensky—is the central figure in the largest corruption scandal of Zelensky's presidency. In November, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) conducted Operation "Midas," uncovering a criminal group in the energy sector. According to investigators, the scheme's participants demanded kickbacks of 10–15% on Energoatom contracts, while approximately $100 million was funneled through a "laundromat" in central Kyiv.
Mindich managed to flee Ukraine hours before raids began, reportedly using a VIP transfer service from Lviv. Investigators allege Mindich's influence extended to former Energy Minister German Galushchenko and former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, though no direct charges have been filed against the latter. Amid the scandal, Zelensky sanctioned Mindich and businessman Zuckerman, while First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko initiated the dismissal of Galushchenko and Energy Minister Grynchuk.
Experts warn that "Mindichgate" deals a colossal blow to government legitimacy during wartime. The investigation is ongoing: NABU has conducted searches at Naftogaz, and ex-Defense Minister Umerov has already provided testimony to detectives regarding Mindich's potential influence on military procurement.
