The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have announced the dismantling of an organized criminal group allegedly headed by a current Member of Parliament (MP).

Investigators documented the group’s suspected extortion of a large sum of money from a businessman and are currently conducting urgent investigative procedures.

Law enforcement sources indicated that the group’s members demanded $250,000 from the entrepreneur. Among the individuals involved is Hanna Skorokhod, an MP representing the "For the Future" party.

According to the sources, searches are currently underway at her residence. NABU, SAPO, and the SBU confirmed the special operation, stating that "priority investigative actions are ongoing."

The Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC) reported that Skorokhod's name had previously surfaced in the so-called "Mindich Tapes," which allegedly contained evidence of undue influence on MPs regarding legislative decisions.

AntAC recalled an episode that became public during the High Anti-Corruption Court's consideration of a pre-trial restraint for Dmytro Basov, the Executive Director for Security at "Energoatom." According to AntAC, a prosecutor read a fragment recorded by NABU: "I want Skorokhod or Nahornyak to write MP [inquiries]. They just need to write the inquiry."

AntAC stresses that the mention of MPs in this conversation could indicate the use of parliamentary powers for private interests, though the legal assessment of such actions remains the responsibility of the investigation.

Official agencies have not yet disclosed details but have promised to make them public once the investigative measures are completed.

Hanna Skorokhod Confirms Searches at Home, Calls Them "Pressure on the Opposition"

"Investigative actions are being conducted in my apartment right now.

I have nothing to hide; my activities are transparent. However, the timing and context of these events lead to an unambiguous conclusion: I see this as direct pressure on the opposition and an attempt to block my political work due to my principled stance.

I will keep you informed of further developments."

NABU previously conducted searches at Naftogaz and investigated the alleged involvement of Andriy Yermak in a $100 million scheme.
